Opportunities to Taste and Learn

While there is much mystique and, yes, snobbery surrounding the world of wine, the bottom line is: it’s meant to be enjoyed. And if you like it, then that’s that. But there is always more to learn, no matter how long you’ve been drinking wine, and a little added knowledge can always broaden one’s experience and heighten one’s enjoyment.

We offer several ways to learn more about wine:

Wine Classes

Wine Dinners

Just wanted to

restate what a great class you guys put on last night! ... We’re so lucky to have you as our local shop.”

—Angie

We run several series of wine classes each year, usually in the fall, winter, and spring, on topics ranging from wine basics, glassware, food pairing, specific regions, and specific wines (Champagne, Sherry, etc.). Our instructors are specialists in their field and love to share their knowledge, and the classes are relaxed and informative.  We will post our fall schedule as soon as it is finalized.

We coordinate with local restaurants to present occasional wine dinners. These events showcase some of the outstanding restaurants in West Seattle, and feature wines specially selected to highlight the menus.

On Sunday, June 27, Small Vineyards, local importer of wines from small, family-owned estates in Italy, is partnering with West Seattle's Fresh Bistro to present a wine dinner featuring wines from Small Vineyards' portfolio, paired with the fabulous food of chef Dalis Chea. Italian winemakers Paolo Trevisiol, from the Veneto region, and Maurizio Marchetti from the Marche, will be on hand to share six of their wines, paired with a six-course meal especially created to complement the wines. The dinner begins at 6:30 and the cost is $100. These events have been absolutely amazing in the past, and they sell out quickly. Space is limited, so if you wish to attend, please RSVP to Fresh Bistro at 206.935.3733. West Seattle Cellars and Bin 41 are working together to help with this event and we hope to see some of our customers there!
